There are 3 main building systems.
For residential housing, masonry blocks and veneer panels are
generally used. The larger structural panels are predominantly
used for commercial / industrial
applications.
Masonry blockscalled
Thermoblock and Sonoblock. This is a full masonry
system for exterior and interior walls. Hebel blocks create
walls from 75mm to 350mm thick. A typical exterior house wall
is 200mm thick. The masonry system gives your house a solid
masonry feel with all the advantages of building in
Hebel. Thermoblock is the standard block and as the name
suggests has tremendous insulating properties. Sonoblock is
slightly more dense and it is used where superior acoustic
performance is required.
Veneer Panelscalled
Powerpanel and Powerfloor. Powerpanel is an exterior
cladding system designed for use with conventional timber or
steel frame construction. The panels are 75mm thick, steel
reinforced and come in a range of sizes. This is a strong
long-life cladding and very quick to install. And due to the
precise even finish it forms an ideal base for a variety of
attractive and low maintenance plaster or textured paint
finishes. Used Horizontally over floor joists it can be used
as a more solid floor sheeting than timber alternatives. In
this application it is called Powerfloor. These panels are
also gaining popularity in applications as diverse as fences,
acoustic barriers and fire places.
Structural
PanelsSimply called Hebel Wall Panels and Hebel Floor
Panels. CSR Hebel Panels are reinforced and designed
for floors, walls, ceilings and roof applications in
commercial, industrial, and domestic construction. These panel
configurations can be used in load-bearing, non-loadbearing
and in fire rated and acoustic applications. As with Hebel
blocks and powerpanel these panels provide superior thermal
insulation and fire rating characteristics compared with more
traditional construction materials.
